Mr Hussein Taki

Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon

Mr Hussein Taki is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, based at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, the Major Trauma Centre for the East of England. He has advanced training in both complex trauma and elective orthopaedic surgery.

He is a member of the Cambridge Orthopaedic Pelvic Unit and one of six pelvic trauma consultants providing tertiary pelvic and acetabular trauma care to a regional population of approximately six million people. He is also a member of the Orthopaedic Trauma Unit, with a specialist interest in the management of multiply injured patients and challenging reconstructive cases.

Mr Taki’s practice includes pelvic and acetabular trauma, complex primary and revision hip surgery, knee replacement surgery, periprosthetic fractures, fracture non-union, implant failure, bone loss and complications following previous surgery. His work often involves detailed surgical planning and, in selected cases, the use of custom implants.

His approach is centred on careful decision-making, meticulous pre-operative planning and highly individualised patient care. He believes successful orthopaedic surgery depends not only on technical excellence, but also on understanding each patient’s goals, functional needs and expectations. He places strong emphasis on clear communication and shared decision-making, ensuring patients feel informed, supported and confident throughout their treatment journey.
